Wandering (O)

Melany fallowed Tanner closely watching his every movement. She made sure that she was doing it right. Usually panthers hunted in the night because of their black coats, so she just stayed under a large boulder. Maybe if one runs in my direction I could kill it she thought. She nodded her head to Tanner, telling him to make the first move.

Tanner nodded back at her and turned towards the elk, he could see a sick one that was limping. They'd go for that one. He leaned up and jumped out from the bushes, immediately chasing after the sick and old one who had been spooked and darted away from the herd.

The elk herd ran the other way quickly and as quietly as they had came but the sick one kept limping, if it had been healthy, it probably would have been okay but Tanner was young and fast.

Tanner leaped up onto it's back and bit into it's neck, making it trip on it's own legs and fall, bringing Tanner with it. Tanner let out a growl and continued clamping down on it's throat, hoping it suffocate it or break it's neck.

Melany jumped out from behind the boulder aiming for a female elk. She killed it biting on its neck with her sharp teeth. She pulled it towards Tanner. "Look what I got."She said with a small smile.

Tanner finally killed it with another chomp on it's air pipe, puncturing it. He smiled and looked over at Melany who had gotten a fawn of the elk. He nodded, it was something they could feed to the adolescence of the tribe, their teeth were not ready for the tough meet of the adult elk.

Tanner shifted to his human form and wiped the blood from around his mouth, he pulled out his hunting knife and looked at Melany "Hand it over, if you're not into bloody things. I can gut them here and it'll make them lighter to carry to the camp." he smiled at her, waiting on her decision.

Melony changed back into a human. Her hands and mouth where bloody. She wiped wiped it off. "Okay, I only use this for protection though."She said. She grabbed her pocket knife in her back pocket and handed it over to Tanner. Her green eyes looked around for a boulder. Walking over to it, she leaned on it.

Tanner nodded and put the pocket knife down. He didn't need it. He looked back at the carcasses and gutted them quickly, getting rid of the organs quickly, he tossed them into a bush and waited for the blood to pool out of the elk. He sighed and looked at his hands, they were filthy.

He stood up and eyed them, the elk were really skinny but they would feed the tribe. He leaned down and picked his up, hoisting it over his shoulders with ease, it was still heavy but he could manage carrying it to the camp.

He looked at Melany "Want me to carry yours?" he asked her, motioning towards the fawn.

"Thanks, but you don't need to if you want."Melany said with a small smile. She grabbed her pocket knife that had nothing on it and put it back in her back pocket. "Let's go."She said. She lead the way back to camp. Once in a while she looked back a Tanner. "Are you sure you want to hold all of it?"He asked.
