Shall I Rant About Politics?

To start this off... I'm going to say that I live in a small town in South-Eastern Colorado, that is mainly Republican based.

I have nothing against republicans or Christians, before I get to ranting,and I know that there are Liberal-Republicans out there.

Anyway, I have this... Friend, kinda. She's really intolerant and ignorant, and rude about it. I was talking about some show... And she was like 'That show is disgusting." Naturally, I asked why she felt that way. "It's disgusting because there are gay people in it, and I hate gay people." My response to that was "Well aren't you an ignorant little moron."

My other friend... Who has became really close with the one above, didn't used to act that way, until the two of them got together. Someone used the word bisexual, and she physically slapped that person, and told them not to use that 'terrible word' around her again.

I got a ride home from practice with the first one's mother, the same day of the presidential election. She called some lady about weekend plans. "Don't you dare try to talk politics with me, because I'm pissed." Then, she blasted her Christian music, and started ranting about 'the gays and homosexuals', and how she couldn't believe that we had a black man in the White House, who supported those feelings.

I overheard one of my child-hood friends say 'We need to put the WHITE back in the White House.'

I shut my mouth, because I knew that if I spoke to her, I'd have to get a little mean.

Anyway... I don't have those feelings at all, and am totally straight, and I politely asked my friends not to talk like that around me. They asked why... And here's going to be a long, sad story.


When I was a lot younger, my mom was dating this guy from a small town in Kansas, and he was a great guy. He had a big family, that farmed like mine, and they were all good people. If I remember right, my mom's boyfriend had four kids, and the youngest brother moved to Boston to go to college, and turned out to be gay. His parents brought him back home, and he came out about it.

They were horrified, and sent him to church services, and programs all over the country to 'de-gay' him. He began to hate himself, and about six months ago, he killed himself.


When I told the that story, when I said that he was gay, they started to laugh.

I kind of... Switched groups after that... I now hang out with a more popular clique... But they're tolerant, but can be a little mean. I'd rather deal with that, though.

I'm absolutely fed up with the intolerance in this place... And I can't wait to get the hell out of Colorado... And go to college.

I'm not sure if this topic is too sensitive... But I really needed to get my feelings out there.

Anyway, when little Morgan expressed her opinion again... Fuck you and he horse you rode in on.



I'm growing really irritated.

Has Obama uttered the words 'Gun control' ever? I think not. And what the hell is with all these people posting pictures of guns on Facebook? -.-

I don't think we need to have assault rifles without sturdy background checks. Not everyone should be able to buy one.

And I hope we stay out of Israel. I hope they blow themselves to hell.

Anyway... Shall we debate a little?

I'm only assuming you guys know this but I am actually gay, or lesbian as you say. (I prefer the term gay, however, seeing as how it is less demeaning), and I completely agree with you Redd. And therefore I can't possibly give you a good debate. Just wanted to let you know, thank you, and more power to you my dear.

I actually hope this doesn't turn into a debate, seeing as I completely agree with you Redd. Gay, not gay, who cares? As long as you're happy with whoever it is you are with, or however it is you feel, how can someone else tell you to change? 'Be yourself, because everyone else is taken', is actually completely right. Besides, who gave anyone the right to say it's 'wrong' or whatever? Bah, I myself am completely straight but I couldn't care less about whether or not someone is gay or not. I mean seriously, it doesn't make them any different, still just living, breathing people, just like everyone else. We're all human.

This is hard, I don't think I'm explaining it right. Ah well, I tried and I know where I stand. And yes, I've heard pig-headed morons going on about the 'immorality' or whatever about it. I punched one of them, couldn't get to the rest. Luckily, it didn' go to a teacher. xD Last day of school.
