Hey guys. I was recently bored and decided to write a story. It came out being about a twelve year old boy getting eaten by a crocodile.........anyway........
Needless to say that turned out to be a fail.
Actually, it was pretty damn good, but I disturbed quite a few people.
I was then asked by a mother of two little girls to write them a story she could read to them at night. I thought this might be a little happier to write about, compared to a crocodile anyway. I only had eighteen minutes to write it, but please tell me what you think.
TO BRYDIE AND LILA
Can you hear them? They’re calling you.
Out in the garden their little voices cry, as they dance around the rosebush.
They want you to come and play with them. They want to dance with you.
Won’t you come out and play?
Their colourful dresses shine and sparkle under the moon.
The colours zip by, faster than the eyes can follow.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Seven fairies, coloured like the rainbow, dance around your garden in the night.
They laugh and sing and play, having so much fun, they are very good friends.
The little girl inside wants to play too.
Quietly, quietly now, she opens the window and peeks outside.
And she sees them, seven beautiful fairies, playing in her
backyard.
They call to her and wave, ‘come and play with us’, their musical voices sing out.
The girl smiles but shakes her head, no, she isn’t allowed outside.
The fairies are sad, they wanted to play with the little girl. She looked very nice.
But then the fairies had an idea, a wonderful idea that made them all ever so happy.
If the girl couldn’t come out, they would go in.
One by one they flew through the open window, flying past the little girl and landing on her bed.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
Seven happy fairies and one girl, laughing together.
All night they talked and laughed, dancing around the little girls room together.
Everywhere the fairies went, little coloured sparkles flew after them.
Soon the girl’s whole room was sparkling in the colours of the rainbow.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
But the girl still felt a little left out, she wanted a beautiful dress too.
So the fairies came together and came up with a plan.
Together they flew around the girl, leaving sparkles all over her fluffy pyjamas.
Then, in a brilliant shimmer of light, her pyjamas changed- Into a beautiful rainbow dress! Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
The fairies told her, that her sparkling rainbow dress was a present.
So that the little girl would always remember them, Because even though morning was drawing near and the fairies had to leave
They would always watch over the little girl who had become their friend.
Magic is real.
As the fairies left they told the little girl their names, One by one they flew back out her window and disappeared back into the garden,
Calling their names out as they vanished.
Red- Faith
Orange- Trust
Yellow- Joy
Green- Beauty
Blue- Love
Indigo- Hope
Violet- Dreams
