Drew chuckled, her eyes sparkling. She placed one of her hands on Tamari's hip, naturally. She didn't even realize she had done it.
"Want to come back to my little hut thingy? I have some lunch food around. And some snack food."
She looked back toward where her hut would be, then back at Tamari. Her smile was kind, inviting.

Tamari nodded eagerly, hungry as ever. She didn't move away when Drew placed a hand on her hip, thinking it was a sign of friendship and nothing more. She was still completely niave and clueless, as she had never met a girl like Drew before.
With a laugh Tamari spread her arm out invitingly. "Lead the way, if you have food then I'm there."

Drew ran her hand down Tamari's forearm. Then turned to lead the way. While walking, she asked:
"Well, I told you about Ashley. You tell me something about you. Or rather, something about someone important to you?"

As she began to walk away, Tamari quickened her strides to catch up and walk beside Drew.
At her question she hesitated and stumbled slightly but caught herself before she fell. Although unsure if she wanted to tell Drew her past, she knew that it was only fair.
After a long sigh she spoke, making sure to keep her face emotionless and her eyes staring straight ahead.
"My brother murdered my parents on my sixth birthday present. He called it my 'birthday present', thought that I would be happy about it."
She frowned slightly as she remembered the blood spattered clearing and the mangled bodies of her parents, who had been holding each other.
"He tried to kill me as well, but I ran away from him."

Normally, Drew would have been surprised at the news. But Drew wasn't normal. She just nodded, taking it all in. In fact, she wasn't surprised at all. Life was so screwed up, that nothing seemed to shake Drew anymore.
Of course, she did feel remorse and sympathy for Tamari. And that; at least, she showed.
"Tamari, I am so sorry."
Her voice was unusually gentle, her eyes soft and sympathetic.
"My brother was a jerk, but he was nothing like that. I'm glad you escaped, but I am so sorry about your parents."
She kept walking, but her eyes were trained on Tamari.

Tamari smiled softly and turned her face a little so that she could look at Drew.
"It's fine. I've had twelve years to get over it now."
Of course it would be a lot easier if he stopped hunting me everywhere. She added bitterly as a silent afterthought.
Though it was very rare for Tamari to be bitter about anything really.

Drew shoved her way through some bushes, and pulled them apart so Tamari could come easily through.
"Well hey, food always helps."
She used one of her hands to point to the small hut in front of them.
"That's home, for now anyway."
Drew continued walking forward, her blonde hair bouncing on her back ever so slightly. She hadn't realized before, but she was pretty hungry too. Maybe they could share more stories about their brothers, while they ate. Or just, anything really.
Drew turned the knob on the door and stepped into the dark house. Flicking her wrist easily to turn on the light.
"Here we are."

Tamari followed Drew inside he house, although it was dark she could see faint outlines of everything already.
She grinned softly and laughed and waited for her eyes to adjust, or for Drew to get some lights.
"Well, I can't see much just yet, but I think it's great!"
She was looking forward to eating and to talking to Drew some more. She was sure that they would both have a lot of interesting things to discuss.

She flicked the light on quickly. Her hand already pointing to the direction of the shelves and the ice box.
"Go on, help yourself. Anything you can find, which should be a lot of things, is yours. Bring me back something too."
Drew walked through a hallway, and into the living room. She made a point of looking back at Tamari, checking her out one more time. Before she smiled and disappeared around the corner.
She walked around another corner and into her bedroom, where she changed into a better shirt. She didn't know why, but she felt like she should impress Tamari. So, this shirt was much cleaner, and showed a little more skin.
She walked back into the living room, then. Plopping herself down onto the couch, she waited for Tamari to return with whatever food she could find.

For herself Tamari just grabbed an apple to start with, deciding to grab something more later. When she started searching the ice box she was completely lost on what Drew might like.
Being a serval and a carnivore she decided that some form of meat might be best, but she was still completely clueless.
With a sigh of defeat she walked back, still holding her apple and leaned over the couch above Drew so that her head was in front of hers but upside down.
She gaze a sheepish smile. "Sorry, but is there anything in particular you like? I don't eat much myself, so I have no idea what other people normally eat."

Drew grinned at her. For some reason, having an upside-down face in front of her was surprisingly adorable. Her heart even skipped a little beat. Chuckling, she shrugged.
"I'm sorry, I have a shortage of worms and grubs, you know, bird-food."
It was a complete joke and she hoped Tamari didn't take it offensively.
"Truly, I'm in the mood for some berries. There should be some raspberries in the ice-box, want me to look?"
Drew put her hands down as if she was going to stand up.
"By the way, I was joking. I know you mostly eat mice and such."

Tamari scrunched up her nose a little at the thought of eating grubs, her face still close to Drew's. With a soft laugh she shook her head.
"I could tell you were joking, but I'll try them if you do."
Pulling back, she righted herself and patted Drew's head for a moment. "Stay there, I'll get it for you."
Turning around, she glided over to the ice box, opening it and bending over at the waist as she rummaged through it.

Drew watched her bounce away. Smiling, she sighed happily, leaning her head back on the couch. Without saying anything for awhile, she glanced back to check on Tamari. Only to find her bent-over and digging around the icebox.
The corners of her shirt were pulling up, and Drew couldn't help but stare at her waist. Her lips were pulled back into a grin, until she realized what she was doing.
"Fuck!" She mumbled to herself. Quickly looking away.

Tamari straightened, raspberries in hand as she heard Drew mutter something. She closed the icebox and walked back over, skirting around the couch and sitting down beside her.
Holding the raspberries out to her she grinned. "Sorry, did you say something?"

Drew shook her head. She patted the couch next to her.
"Have a seat! And no, nothing important..."
She smiled gently, reaching her hand out for the raspberries.
"Oh Gods, these look delicious. I don't usually eat fruit, seeing as how I'm more so carnivore, but this looks amazing.
So, Mari, tell me something else about yourself. May I call you that, Mari?"
