Through the night, most slept. But not in a lioness's mind. Night was hunting time.
Tori gradually woke, softly stepping out of her bed in the cabin, changing into her favorite form. She stalked out into the crisp, night air, the only sound her breath. This was her escape.
She looked around, seeing the world in the darkness, her tongue running along her pink lion mouth silently. She listened, her ears swiveling around, waiting for a signal. She heard something, but not what she wanted to hear.
Footsteps. Human ones. The scent of a tribe mate filled her nose, and she rolled her eyes. Damn people. Didn't they know a lioness was hunting?

Clinton heard the lioness starting to hunt. So he climbed out of his tree tand walked over by her untill he was a few yards away. He shifted into the lion he was and joined her.
"What are you hunting tonight?"he asked in lion speak
He flicked his tail and scented the air letting the crisp air hit the roof of his mouth.

Tori turned angrily at the voice of Clinton. She wasn't mad at him, but at what he had just done. What was she hubting? Prey. The urge to be a smart-ass was hard to resist, but she managed.
"Whatever's dumb enough to come into my grasp," she replied quietly, her eyes shining in the darkness.

'Ah yes. Right why was that question asked?' Clinton thought to himself.
"Do you mind if I join you? Or are you a solo hunter?" He joked.
He sat down letting his mane blow in the soft breeze and as his mane waved he realized. That not only was she a lion, she was a normal lion. He wasn't. Why was he odd colored?
"Its alright if you don't want me too join you. Sometimes hunting alone is better." He said making sure it wouldn't hurt him if he was refused from hunting with his leader.
He heard song birds in the trees and looked up at what was left of the moon. What little moon was left didn't give off much light. His eyes if she had noticed weren't shineing. They were dull and almost lifeless, like a dieing animal. He was almost like a dying animal. His life was being torn apart from the insides because of howl and his baby.
'Why did I have to do it. Why couldn't I have waited?' he though to himself.
It was his problem now. Its going to be his child. Gavin Hayden. Brown hair, hazel eyes, and black bear claws. Boy was that going to be tough. He knew it too. He wasn't an expert on this stuff. He wasn't going to let it pull him down though. He put on a lion smile and pushed Gavin Hayden from his mind for this moment.
He stood up and staggered. Righting himself, he shook out his fur and stood on three legs as he licked a paw and brought it over an ear to get out any dust.

Tori was many things, some bad, some good. She was intuitive. She watched Clinton in silence, looking for cat eyes. She saw none. It confused her, and she tilted her head.
He must be upset. Was it Howl? Dare she ask? Not yet. She would first hunt with him.
"You are welcome to join my hunt," she replied, gently.

He gratefully looked at her and brought back a spark that quickly died. It brought back memories from happier times.
"You can lead if you wish. Its your idea after all." He said quietly hoping not to scare off anymore prey than whet he probaby already had.
He lifted his head a little more than usual and tasted the crisp air for anything to hunt for.

Tori spotted his eyes light, then fade again. What was going on in that mind of his? She wondered if Howl had told him the wonderful news? Ha! That was probably why he looked all freaked out.
She was glad for her rank suddenly. Mates, dates, boys were not at the top of her mind. She would never have children, or would she? The great line of her family would be done after her demise.
Her line was entirely of leaders, and lions, on her father's side anyway. Her mother seemed useless to her, only having children her entire life, until she passed at her little sister's birth, who was stillborn.
Tori watched Clinton, her eyes peeking through the night sky, stern and cold. She should start hunting... But she didn't. She sat, still, her eyes blinking shut.

Clinton locked eyes with her. Hers were so questioning, friendly, and bright while his were so dull, lifeless, and sad.
"I know your wondering what I'm thinking. I can feel it. But it has nothing to do with Howl." He said sighing.
He looked around for something else to talk about. He liked the attention but just not on this particular subject.

Blue-green orbs narrowed as a cloud crossed over, blocking the moon from sight. She sighed, knowing she was getting nothing out of him.
Footsteps morphed into silence, the only noise was now Clinton. Victoria was hunting. She crouched low, her ears twitching in rhythm with her nose, cool air rushing into her mouth. She got it. A deer, a buck to be exact. Fantastic!
She followed the scent in silence, gaining on the beast. She saw him, and stalked, getting close. MIT scented her, speeding away. Not fast enough, though. She caught it, draining the blood from its neck with her teeth. It screamed, calling for help, then died, losing too much blood.
She looked for her hunting buddy, her eyes taunting him. 'Your turn!' they called.

He saw her pad off. He had won this one. So he followed her and watched her take down a buck. As she called out to him he scented elk and it was healthy. He raised his tail and fell silently into a hunter crouch. He may have been a warrior, but his hunter skills were just as fluent. Clinton dropped his tail and slowly stalked the elk. It was dark out yet but he only had so much time before the moon came back. He leaped up into the tree and climbed out on a branch. Clint shifted and crawled across the branch. He leapt up and shifted back to come down and land on the elks back. It bucked and kicked and it tried everything to get him off. He stuck like a burr though and slowly crawled up its back to hold onto its neck. He latched his claws into its neck, as it slowed down he stuck his head around and latched his teeth into its wind pipe. The elk fell to the ground and he held on long enough to make sure it was dead. He growled as it bled on his white coat. He was now a red lion instead of a white lion.
"Now its back to you." He said to Tori.

A red lion! What a treat! The two had caught their prey, and it was plenty. But Tori wasn't ready to head home. She laid her beast under a tree, hidden, and crawled up into the silver tree.
She laid on a large branch, her favorite place. It was full of claw marks and scrapes, from her over the years. Her scent was mixed in with the one of aspen, a warning to all.
Ooc; Lost my muse.

.Ooc: I do a lot XD He dragged his elk down to below the tree she was sitting in. He started ripping it open only to find that it was really fat! No wonder it was easy bringing it down. He grabbed the juciest peice of meat and climbed the tree after Tori. He dropped it next to her and backed down the tree. Clints eyes lit up just a tad bit when the moon returned and he saw the beautiful lion sitting in the tree.

Beatifil? Yes. Radiant? Yes. Gorgeous? Yes.
Tori gulped down the prey, studying him a bit. What was that in his eyes? A look she hadn't seen from him, ever. He didn't look at Howl like that. Oh no. What had she done?
He was going to be a father! Tori, your writer wants to know what you're thinking!
Tori gave him a smile, totally not caring about Howl.

ooc: lol I love your rping. He smiled and started to lick himself clean. There was a pond near by. When he was done he would go to the pond and wash up. He shifted back into his human form and started to stand up. He was covered in blood and he didn't want to get licked clean. He reached up and grabbed the branch. He let go and jumped up onto the branch swiftly.
"So Tori.. You haven't said much. What is going on in that pritty head of yours?" He asked.
He smiled back at the lioness and sat closer to her so he could run his hand across her back and ruffle her ears.

Ooc; Aww, thank you. She watched as he changed, and sat, letting him ruffle Her golden ears. She changed after letting him do so, sitting in silence. Then she noticed. There was freaking deer blood in her hair. Gross.
She walked over to the pond, the clouds covering the moon, making it dark. He couldn't see her, and she took her shirt off. Of course, she had a bra on, so it was cool. She leaned down, cleansing her hands and face, sighing. She turned, grabbing her shirt. She put it on as she walked back, hoping he saw nothing.
"Just wondering how we'll make it through the winter, with children and all," she replied. That was a responsibility of hers, one of the many.
