I'm not sure what time it is for you guys, it's completely different for me because I live in Australia.
But this is just a heads up that Trick and I may not be only for the next to days (or maybe nights for you??).
I've qualified to swim in the Australian Open Swimming States and they run on both days, Trick has to come with me.
For those that don't live in Australia, (all of you ) this is a short informative thing just so you know that I'm not blowing you off for nothing.
Ok so basically all of the coloured areas are where the different swimmers are coming from, and there are some from America as well. The place I live in is the circle blue bit and that's where the competition is.
To be allowed to swim in this meet you have to be 16 or over (I turned sixteen earlier this year). And after sixteen you can be as old as you want. To be qualified, you have to have swum a certain time in the swim you want to race.
For eg. If I wanted to swim 100m (4 laps) of freestyle at this competition. I would have to have swum it before some other time during the year, and achieved the necissary time.
(eg, 1.04 minutes)
It's not all-important that you understand, I just thought I'd try. So I've qualified to swim in the 100m (4 laps) and 200m (8 laps) butterfly events. BTW- It's hard! Don't ever do it! You'll die!
The competition goes for both days, the heats are in the morning where everyone swims. Then if you make the top ten out of the heats, you come back again and swim in the finals, which are a big deal. It means that you are one of the top ten fastest swimmers in Australia in that stroke.
At the moment I am ranked 5th in Australia for my 200m butterfly, I hope to become 1st someday.
Anyways, wish me luck! I'll try to come on every day on the weekend, but as I just said, it may not be possible.
